Job Description

 

Position Summary

As a member of the Digital Media staff, this individual is responsible for the production of multimedia educational, instructional, and promotional material including support for distance learning, public relations, community relations and special events for Calhoun Community College.

Salary:  Appropriate placement on ACCS Salary Schedule E2, Grade 3: $44,333 - $61,480

Work Hours:  Monday through Thursday, 7:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.; Friday 7:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Record and edit instructional content for the production of distance learning programs; produce and re-produce multiple videos and files from diverse formats for distance learning, training, workforce development and other educational and training purposes.  
  2. Operate studio cameras, ENG video cameras, DSLR digital/video cameras and recording equipment to capture college events both on and off campus. 
  3. Create and manipulate computer Graphic Design digital media content; build and integrate content with animation, motion, a combination of motion and static and integrate the output with other graphics, video, photos and other multimedia content. 
  4. Assist in the production/coordination of programs to inform the local community via CETV. Set up and break down recording equipment for live remote programs and on location shoots using a switcher, multiple cameras, and other audio and video recording equipment, as needed.
  5. Assist in the documentation of college events including, but not limited to: Graduation, Honors Day, athletic programs, SGA activities, musical and theatrical performances, and other events as requested.
  6. Assist in managing, troubleshooting and maintaining multimedia broadcast equipment.
  7. Perform all duties with professionalism.
  8. Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

  1. A minimum of two years (96 quarter or 64 semester hours) postsecondary education from an accredited institution with a minimum of twelve (12) semester hours in TV, Film, Broadcasting, Graphic Design, Multimedia Audio Video Production or related field and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in field is required OR a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years work experience in TV, Film, Broadcasting, Graphic Design or Multimedia Audio Video Production is required.
  2.  A comprehensive, professional 4 -6 minute demo reel showcasing multimedia work and demonstrating videography, editing, graphic design, and producing skills will be required of all applicants selected for an interview is required

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate through their experiences and accomplishments:

  1. Extensive knowledge of computers used in multimedia audio-video production and editing.  
  2. Extensive knowledge of personal computers, audio, and video recorders, video cameras, special effects generators, audio mixers and video file formats.  Video up conversions and down conversions.
  3. Extensive knowledge in the use of software packages used in Broadcasting and Multimedia production including Microsoft Office Products, Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere and Illustrator, and/or other non-linear editing (NLE) software like AVID Media Composer or Final Cut.
  4. General understanding of and the ability to use automatic equipment control software.
  5. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  6. Reading skills to proofread, read correspondence, handwritten, and typewritten instructions, and professional literature.
  7. Ability to write scripts for the production of instructional, promotional and informational multimedia video programs. 
  8. Knowledge of broadcast equipment and operating procedures.
  9. Ability to record and edit audio and video program material for diverse use in multimedia formats and for distribution to social media.
  10. Ability to identify ideas, events, and subject matter that warrant documenting.
  11. Knowledge of copyright laws that relate to the recording and production of audio and video programs.
  12. Knowledge of safety procedures and health regulations relative to the use of broadcast television equipment both in the studio and in the field.
  13. Ability to focus, multitask, pay close attention to details, and work both independently and as a member of a team.
  14. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
  15. Ability to maintain confidentiality of office information.
  16. Conscientious- wanting to care about how work is done and wanting to do a good job.
