SUMMARY

The RFIC Engineer is responsible for all aspects of mmWave/RF support, development cycle and testing with an emphasis on highly integrated and efficient designs and technologies. As a RFIC engineer, you will be the owner of providing circuit and system solutions for multi-gigabit wireless chips. This role will serve a multifunctional role as project leader, trainer, design support, and also present data and findings in a variety of formats. Works closely with manufacturing engineers on production testing and qualification of RFIC components and systems.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply working experience with RFIC PLL/Mixed Signal circuit design including PLL architecture, integer-N and Fractional-N, phase noise analysis, prescaler, divider, PFD, Loop filter, and calibration.
  • Familiar with measurements of PLL system tuning range, phase noise, zero-crossing.
  • Perform IC floor planning and layout including packaging models and evaluation of external needs.
  • Designs and tests supporting circuits and defines the architecture, design, simulation, layout, and extracted simulation. Characterizes and analyzes performance.
  • Share knowledge of product characterization, test plan, and test automation. Assist as needed in development of automated test lab equipment for measurements.
  • Knowledge of jitter attenuation techniques.
  • Knowledge of PCB design, micro-controller, serial bus, and firmware development for device interface.
  • CAD tools: Cadence virtuoso, EMX, Mentor Graphics, Matlab, ADS and other simulation tool.
  • Apply wide variety of testing and root cause analysis tools.
  • Confers with the experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative product solutions, utilizing knowledge and experience in a broad range of analog and radio-frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) designs.
  • Collaborates with digital design, and chip implementation teams and third-party suppliers to define analog and digital boundary requirements for circuit calibration, clock generation, and timing and to drive key aspects of product definition, execution, and optimization.
  • Focuses on creating the most power-optimized solution for a given system performance.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
MS in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on RF/Microwave circuits and design
5 years' experience in digital communication systems and/or 5G knowledge of RF transceiver architecture
5 years' experience designing wideband RFIC tools from creation to production
Ability to pass a drug and background check
Ability to travel up to 20%
Ability to communicate effectively in English to internal and external customers

Salary range: $92,023 - $133,246
